The students should be recording their reading in their planners.  Parents and Guardians please initial or sign their planners. The students need to be reading an average of 150 minutes a week.  I check their logs on Monday so they have the weekend to make up any time missed during the week.

We have just a few weeks left of school but a lot going on.  Please remind your child that school is not over until the last day of school which is May 29.  I will still be teaching lessons until the last day. If you have not sent $10 for the museum field trip that we went on earlier this week please do so.

May 19: Community meeting at Southmoor about the growth and space at Southmoor 6:30-8:30. Input will be used by the board of education and district.

May 21: 5^th grade music performance 2:30 and 6:30  Kids should arrive at 6:15

May 25: Memorial Day No School

May 26: Continuation 6:30 in the back of the school

May 28: Pool Party 11-2:30 (This is the official day there has been some confusion on the date) Please bring a sack lunch and water and sunscreen.  The cost is $2 please send it with the permission slip if you have not already done so. Extra treats will be provided for the kids through out the day. We still need more chaperones so contact me if you are interested.

May 29: 5^th grade picnic at Southmoor Park. Parents are welcome to stop by for a long time or a short time.  If you would like to bring treats please let me know so that we do not have too many. We will be at the park from about 10-2 so please send your child with water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a lunch.

We will be going on a fieldtrip to the Denver museum of Nature and Science on Monday May 11. The cost of this trip is $10 and will be our last field trip of the year.
