Week of November 24

Check it Out! If you go to http://everydaymathonline.com/ You can access the Everyday Math games PLUS you can access the online interactive student math reference book.

You just have to sign on first.  The students know their log ins and passwords.  I also gave you a small card at conferences that has thier log ins.  If you lost it let me know and I can e-mail you the information.

Ask your child which explorer they have been studying.

Ask what their essay was about.

Ask them about density, mass, matter and volume - This one is tough!

Class News and Information: 

  • Please send in $4 for our planetarium trip and our science speakers, Thanks!
  • Benchmark tests will be sometime in December, probably in the first two weeks.
  • Report Cards went home in last week's Thursday folders (November 20)
  • If you are interested in being a parent coach for a Shakespeare team there will be a meeting December 1 after school in the library. Contact Terri Appell or Janet Gilbert if you are interested or if you cannot make the meeting.
  • Cookie Exchange December 3

Due Monday December 1: corrected and signed unit 4 test.  Do not erase your old answers.  Make corrections on another sheet of paper.  Please number your corrections, show your work and keep it neat.
 
Social Studies:
Due Monday December 1: Continue to work on individual explorers report and presentation.  The students will start giving presentations after the break.
 

Spelling/Literacy: No test this week 

 

Due Tuesday: Baseball reading copy

 

Reading Log: Due Monday December 1 after Thanksgiving break

The students should be recording their reading in their planners.  Parents and Guardians please initial or sign their planners. The students need to be reading an average of 150 minutes a week.  I check their logs on Monday so they have the weekend to make up any time missed during the week.

  • Ameritowne: If you have not sent in your $10 for the Ameritowne field trip please do so this week.  A check is prefered.

Spelling: Unit 9 Homophones test on Friday Words 1-20 

This week the students are NOT required to add 5 additional words to their lists.  This is one of the harderst units and I want them to focus on the 20 words on the list.
